Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Internship
Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Intern
Cambridge
The objective of the project will be to assist in the development and testing of our platform for MRI-informed modelling prediction of drug penetration in solid tumors, which will be developed as a collaboration between the Systems Medicine and Integrated Bioanalysis teams.
Data extracted from non-invasive MRI imaging will be used to parametrize transport properties of therapeutic antibodies for anti-cancer therapy, and build spatial mathematical models of solid tumors, to optimize dosing decision in anti-cancer therapies.
We are seeking a candidate with a keen interest in numerical simulations of mathematical models applied to biology.
- Review the relevant literature
- Extract, and processing and visualizing data from MRI imaging and/or spatial transcriptomics.
- Assistinthedevelopment/implementation of spatialmathematicalmodels drug biodistribution in tumor
- Report results and prepare presentations to communicatewithrelevantscientific teams within AZ
- Solidunderstanding, at advancedundergraduate level or above, of multivariate calculus and linear algebra;
- Basic coding proficiencyin at least one of the following: Python (preferred), Julia, Matlab, R, C/C++
- Somepreviousexposuretonumerical methods for partialdifferentialequations (PDEs), for example diffusion, diffusion-reaction and advection-diffusion-reaction problems.
- Somepreviousexposureto analysis of 3D spatial data.
